Developing Your Interpersonal Skills
Productive workplace relationships either as a colleague or leader will result from developing your understanding of self and others. Building your self-awareness of how you impact on others brings a clearer focus to your interpersonal skill development. Participants engage in activities to practise the key skills of active listening, assertiveness, and giving and receiving feedback relevant to their workplace needs.
Building Effective Teams
In today’s workplace, staff are required to build relationships with others to develop cohesive teams able to work towards common goals. Ongoing organisational restructuring, and short term project and contract work requires staff to quickly adapt to changing team circumstances. The program examines team member behaviour at an individual and group level and its relationship to achieving outcomes. Activities explore collaborative practice and process to build team cohesion.
Mentoring and Coaching for Individuals and Teams
This program is designed for managers and supervisors who have the responsibility for developing staff. Participants will explore the distinction between mentoring and coaching and the skills required to be an effective mentor in either a formal or informal mentoring process. It also explores a simple and effective coaching model that maximises the impact of coaching situations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management
This program provides participants with frameworks and techniques for engaging, communicating and influencing stakeholders. It is designed with a particular focus on communication with key stakeholders, both external and internal, gaining cooperation from those parties. The program will allow participants to enhance their understandings of power and influence and their ability to change their approach and behaviour to gain desired outcomes through stakeholder engagement. It explores processes for eliciting stakeholder views on their relationship with the organisation and the maintenance of ongoing relationships.
Managing Difficult People and Situations
This program is built on the premise that there are no difficult people, just different people and difficult situations. Participants examine how they and others react to different challenges at work and the techniques to create positive outcomes in difficult situations.
Facilitating Collaborative Planning and Decision Making
Participants will be able to understand the principles and develop the techniques of effective facilitation for different audiences to achieve positive outcomes. They will practise strategies to enhance engagement and participation. They will also explore the management of challenging group members.
